Steps for Becoming an Health Insurance Agent

Welcome to the world of Insurance!

In order to get started you will need to take the following steps. We are happy to help you with any questions you may have along the way.

Step 1– Getting your Utah Insurance License – Please see the following Website for instructions and study material https://insurance.utah.gov/agent/producers/exam/

Step 2– You will need to be covered by Errors and Omissions Insurance (E&O)- This is professional liability insurance and is needed in order to sell insurance. There are many different companies to choose from.

Step 3– CMS Certification – These certifications are needed in order to sell on exchange Insurance policies. All Carriers require that you have these and renew them every year. There are eight certificates in all.

Step 4– Avenue H – There are classes held once a month (generally) and you will need to complete this training in order to become appointed to sell any group Dental. This updates as soon as the new classes are decided.
