Renewal date change in Utah

We can help your clients get the most from their benefits
Keep What You Have (2 to 50) groups with an October 15 through December 15, 2016 renewal date in Utah will have the option to keep their plans longer with a 10/1/16 renewal date change

To elect this option, your clients must be on a non-ACA Keep What You Have (KWYH) plan that renews October 15 through December 15, 2016. This offer will be ready by August 1 for you and your clients to consider.

Under federal guidance, the last date that KWYH plans can be renewed is October 1, 2016. Current KWYH groups with 2 to 50 employees in eligible states will have the option to move their renewal dates from October 15 through December 15, 2016 to October 1, 2016.

This allows your clients to maintain their current KWYH plans — which are not considered to be out of compliance with the Affordable Care Act during the transitional period — until September 2017, if permitted by their state.

By electing to take this option, your clients’ pre-ACA plans will continue to be medically underwritten and will allow them to keep their current benefits.

There are many considerations for your clients to take into account before changing their renewal date or electing to maintain their current plan longer. This decision is their choice. No group is required to elect this option.
