Up Your Disability Knowledge this Offseason
The most successful group benefits professionals are already working hard to sharpen their skills this summer so when open enrollment starts, they’re on top of their game.
If you’re looking to outwork your competition now and outsell them later, Hartford School of Insurance has your back with our intensive 3-day Group Disability Specialist Program. Here’s what a recent attendee had to say:
“I have been in the industry for 10 years and have had many disability sales, but never felt very confident talking about the ‘guts’ of the plan when consulting with clients. I feel much more comfortable and have access to many more resources after taking this class and earning the GBDS designation.”
See what the buzz is about and attend one of our upcoming Disability Specialist Programs today!

The Ins and Outs of ADAAA
A job applicant tells a potential employer that he or she has a disability. What should the employer do? And just as important, what should the employer not do?
To educate your client, you need to know about the Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act, or ADAAA. This law, which went into effect in 2009, updates the original Americans With Disabilities Act (passed in 1990). The ADAAA expanded the definition of disability, allowing more people to qualify than in the past.
